Well, as long as she bakes :P - Even I gotta admit, I put up with a few things from my wife because she is my wife. Luckily, she isn't faced with dealing with any problems from me!!!!

I agree with everyone else here. I only boil chicken if it's going into soup, a casserole or dumplins.

Her boiled then grilled chicken and mine that I insist on doing without the boiling process. You have to forgive her too though, she's not from Texas. Shes from NW Kentucky. I love her to death and all, just some differences in cooking/culture we gotta work around. On the other hand, her baking puts Betty Crocker to shame. Man the Mrs can bake a cake :D I cant wait to get home that's for sure.

Perhaps one day you should suggest that she boil a cake before sticking it in the oven

Okay -boiling chicken for soups-chicken salads-dumplings- chicken enchilada's is fine.

Grilling chicken you keep n lock in those great "Juices" and TOTALLY cooked through with NO BACTERIA. (If that is why she feels the need to boil first.

Have you ever asked her why she thinks it needs to boiled?
Also grilling chicken correctly is just as tender n so juicy with great seasonings or previously marinading it.

:evilnana: But- DARL'N take it from a pre-matured woman-if it saves peace in the bedroom -than by all means BOIL those birds first or ~~~~~~~~~at LEAST her pieces of chicken.!!!.. :goof:

Or be the :rambo: n just grill them all.

OK, Guys...I used to think just like all of you about boiling a chicken...But then I tried a recipe from India, where you boil the bird in a mixture of soy sauce, spices, chilies, garlic and onions. You then put in a hot oven for 45 minutes, and you end up with one of the best tasting birds you have ever had.

There is indeed a recipe for that:

1. Boil Chicken
2. Throw Chicken in trash
3. Divorce Wife
4. Go back to store with 1/2 your former assets
5. Buy New Chicken
6. Go back home (you got to keep the house because judge found just cause and "emotional damages" caused to you by wife forcing you to boil chicken)
6. Barbecue New Chicken without boiling
7. Call up New Style Texas Girlfriend to invite to New Chicken Dinner
8. New Style Texas Girlfriend loves New Chicken
9. Propose to New Style Texas Girlfriend who immediately accepts, becoming New Style Texas Wife (invite Old Boiler Wife to wedding out of spite)
10. Buy New Style Texas Wife New Trailer Jambo or Gator Pit Cooker for wedding present, honeymoon by going to Red River for cookoff
11. Live Happily Ever After (Ticking off Old Boiler Wife even more)

how do i add to this? hahaha yous guys are too funny.

boiled chicken really?

ok ok, i have to ask... why does she feel the need to boil? and is there anyway she would be open to a more modern line of thinking? i am sure there is plenty of research data that would confirm that grilled chicken without boiling is safe and sane.
if she won't budge and this is the only thing you disagree on, i say let sleeping dogs lay.

I am curious about her reasoning for boiling then grilling. Every time I've boiled one its to shred it for dumplings or enchiladas or something. I'm confused...

She's a nurse and all about being sanitary and all that nonsense. I guess the threat of salmonella drives her nuts. I must say though, that since I made the initial post she has lightened up immensely. We don't boil it anymore, unless we're making dumplins or something.
