Boiling Chicken?

Postby madmax52 » Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:18 am

My wife being a nurse insists on boiling chicken before we put it on the grill. Do any of you do this? I find it totally unnecessary and time consuming. I haven't really noticed a change in flavor or anything though.

Boiled chicken - never heard of it.

I think that is what they serve you when you are in the hospital.

I'm not a big fan of yard birds to begin with. Put up with it in the menu rotation for maintenance reasons. The Mrs is High Maintenance  If she's not going to be home you can bet the farm that you won't see me cooking chicken for my lonesome 8) That said, if I had to blanch a chicken before I could smoke/grill it, well there are somethings that just ain't right no-how. I'd have to draw the line on that one.

Easy killer. lol. I didn't say that I condoned it at all. As a matter of fact; when we bbq chicken it's usually in two batches. Her boiled then grilled chicken and mine that I insist on doing without the boiling process. You have to forgive her too though, she's not from Texas. Shes from NW Kentucky. I love her to death and all, just some differences in cooking/culture we gotta work around. On the other hand, her baking puts Betty Crocker to shame. Man the Mrs can bake a cake :D I cant wait to get home that's for sure.
