4) cube steaks each about 4 x6 inches tenderized
1 beaten egg
¼ cup milk or Buttermilk is better
2 c. self rising flour
2 T. salt
3/4 tsp. garlic granular
1 tsp. black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
touch of dried sage
Dip steak in egg wash of buttermilk or milk ñ egg- coat meat well -dip in mixed remaining combined ingredients. Brown both sides in a little hot oil in cast iron skillet to lightly brown both sides.
Remove steak -shallow baking pan- in a single layer loosely covering in foil - bake 325° F. about 30 minutes or till fork tender but not dry. A little water may be added to pan around steaks to keep steaks from drying out no more than 1/4 inch deep.
Make gravy adding butter n flour for the roux n extra flavor
Note~ or just use seasonings of garlic-salt n pepper with little chicken paste mixed YUM but do use the buttermilk.
