Best Stew I Ever Ate!!

Postby Stan41 » Sat Jan 22, 2011 1:39 pm

Yesterday wife made the best stew I ever ate!

I deboned (almost) a pork butt and made sausage with the meat.

Wife boiled the bone, with a little meat attached for an hour in 1 quart of water.

Let the bone cool while still in the broth until it was cool enough to handle, then removed the small amount of meat from the bone.

Returned the meat pieces to the broth and added:

Chopped carrots
Chopped celery
Cubed potatoes
Chopped onion
2 cans chicken broth.

Boiled this until vegetables were tender then added:
1 large can of tomatoes
Large macaroni elbows.
Salt to taste.

Boiled until the macaroni was tender.
She said she didn't measure anything, just did it.

To my taste, this is better than any beef stew I ever had.

Sounds like a good meal, don't know I've ever had macaroni in stew but sounds like it would work.
