Meat ñ Rustic Romano Pasta

1½ lbs. ground beef lean**
1 onion medium chop
1) 14 oz. can beef broth or homemade
1) 14.5 oz. Hunts Petite diced tomatoes
1 tsp. basil or use fresh basil (4 to 6 leaves
2 to 3 garlic cloves minced or use garlic granular
Sprinkle of Italian Seasoning or ur taste
1 bay leaf large (to be removed at serving time
2 c. bow tie pasta uncooked** or tubes
3/4 c. grated Romano cheese ñ more for serving
Black olives drain slice
2 c. zucchini sliced** 1/4 inch thick

Using large skillet over medium to high heat- brown meat ñ onion cook with till almost through- breaking it up.

Add all other ingredients EXCEPT zucchini. Stir to coat pasta. Bring to boil ñ reduce heat to medium.

Cook- uncovered- 15 minutes stirring frequently. Add zucchini -continue cooking an additional 5 minutes or until *pasta is tender.

Sprinkle with more cheese over platter. Serve with a salad ñ crusty warm bread.

Notes~can pre cook bow ties so not so much starch in the dish-(I do but in a hurry throw all together.
Adding summer squash with this ñ zucchini mixed is good ñ colorful

Sometimes I chop up little bit of pepperoni (1/2 inch or so very fine ñ pinch or 1/2 tsp. fennel powder in sauce when cooking –Been making this many years. OH my this is good ñ easy to make.

This is good anytime or parties -make ahead
