I made some steak mince and cheese pies a week or two ago, I was going to make steak n kidney but offal is hard to get here ATM, I love lambs tongues as well but the Arab countries pay big for our lamb offal, so I had to order it from my butcher. 2 lamb kidneys $4, we used to get for nothing and feed the cat. Lol. Any who, I got some during the week, and I'm making them in an hour or so. I will post pics. Nz and ozzy love pies. I watch a lot of merican TV but don't hear of pies being eaten over your way. Some of my mates will be getting a pie as well.

Meat pies on the beef and kidney side are not as big over here as they are for you and our Irish friends. But pot pie is a common over here in the northern states where people spend half a year frozen ha! Mostly chicken and veggies in them over here.

In our Southland and Western states here, pot pies give way to chicken and dumplings, which are wicked good.

I would eat them both, bottom pic is a good pic of what I'm doing, but different filling. Using the mincer wife bought me a year or so ago. I can make sausages with the same machine, but haven't got round to making them yet.

I'm not much on meat pies HOWEVER, one time we were deer hunting and the cook happened to be a retired Chef from Holiday Inns in Mexico - - - his name was Chilo and after I had dressed and quartered my Buck he asked for the carcass - - - I told him sure but I just needed the head and horns to be legal on the way home - - - - little did I know that he was going to cut ALL THE MEAT that happened to have gotten left on the bones and make a meat pie for the next day - - - - IT WAS AWESOME

no hi-jack intended Pard :D

We love shepherds pie, I use left over roast lamb, mix with chopped sweet tater parsnip onion and carrots, topped with mash tatter.
One of my faves as a wee kid and now a big kid, lol. Oxtail stew done here as well
