Delicious Flank Steak Sandwich Grilled with Sauce Made from

Postby Hj » Sun Aug 15, 2010 12:18 pm

1 to 1½ lbs. flank steaks little thick
2 to 3 T. favorite steak rub
2 T. x virgin olive oil
Ciabatta bread or any buns or rolls U like

4 to 6 red onions grilled thick sliced
4 horseradish white cheddar cheese slices - as U like
romaine lettuce for bread

Spread made of
1/2 c. favorite smoked chile sauce with maybe 1/2 c. mayo -mixed well-chill till ready to use covered.

Season flank steaks ñ press into meat both sides heavily.

Start grill medium temp -spray grates with Pam or oil so meat don't stick

Grill meat each side about 4 to 5 minutes or Ur liking-this is maybe rare or medium depending on grill heat

Remove meat to let rest -grilling the onions with oil -salt pepper n some garlic granular if U like till cooked tender n toast bread or buns to crispness U like

Slice meat along the grain into thick slices- spread refrigerated sauce on bread ñ build UR sandwich with cheese-lettuce-onions ñ drizzle some extra sauce over all of it- get the cold beer out.

Note ~ sometimes I mix the spread using 1/4 c. sour cream n 1/4 c. mayo in place using 1/2 c. mayo only.
Sauce mixed this way is good with pork also.
A mistake is sometimes a great creation
