Bluz, my condolences on the loss of your beloved hat. :( Hopefully it went to a good home.

After a drive home this morning at the same time recovering from some bad head syndrome( may be lack of sleep, but Crown may have been a contributing factor also), and then a well needed shower and nap, I am back alive and kicking. The fellowship and hospitality shown to us rookies was outstanding and a big thanks to all that had some input to give us.Big thanks to Donnie Glattner, Steven Glattner, Eric (Mechnech) and son, Dale Patterson and wife, and many more that I cant remember there names. Folks if you havent had the pleasure to visit a cookoff where these folks are cooking, your missing out on some great times and friends. This is just a big family heck bent to beat your tail on the comp, but are just happy to see friends name called for recognition. Great time had by all for sure and especially the Q-Crew Team. Thanks

Congrats to you guys! Nice showing. You are, of course, correct about the people at the comps. Fine folks. Donnie and folks like him make even a novice feel welcome. It's a great sport, even if you only show up to judge or help out with the comp.

Wow....way to go guys. Looks like loads of fun. Congrats on your winnings.

Bluz - I lost a good hat the the Blue River in Oklahoma 7 or 8 years ago. Jack Daniels was involved, and the best I can remember it ended up in the campfire for some kind of ritual I conjured up. :flamer: It sure seemed like a good idea at the time. It may have been the pyro coming out in me. I've always loved playing with fire! I still miss that hat, but may it live in eternity with the fire gods.
