Wylie cookoff in August

Postby JaCK2U2 » Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:47 pm

Anyone cooked here before? How strict are they on drinking? Cups - inside? How big of cookoff has this been? I plan on being there, and I'm just curious! Thanks!

The City of Wylie has annexed some of the parks, East Fork, Avalon, Lavonia, Mallard, Little Ridge and Pebble Beach.. These parks have a city ordinance prohibiting alcohol in the park..

But Im not sure if they allow it for this cook off.. May need to call the numbers on the flyer..

Hey BigDave. Best of luck with the comp! Don't know if you remember, but I met up with ya at one of the Irving comps several years ago and you were nice enough to take me around and introduce me to folks. It's good to see you posting again. Have not seen much of you since the Klose board shut down.

You still making sausage? Stick around and kick in some ideas when ya got the time!

Best of luck and prayers for a speedy recovery on the surgery deal.

Dang Pony, didn't even think bout gettin pics. After we got the tray ready for turn-in there wuz a frenzied rib lickin party by a dozen folks or so and wuzn't anything left to take a pic of after a few minutes or so. General poor planning on our part. Will get pics next time!

Hey Dave,

I feel even worse about not seeing you now, now that I know who you are. I stopped by your site Sunday morning to offer congrats, but I was told you were in the trailer. I was set up next site over. We took 4th ribs and 8th brisket. Chicken musta got lost! Well, anyway, a belated congrats on ribs!

No trophy....just a check!

Dang Jack, you shouldv'e come over to the trailer! Were ya'll across the street? Congrats on that fine showing with two calls!

I saw Tommy Joe and Tom Hoefer at the breakfast. It was nice to chat with old friends. I just didn't get around to visit at all as the knee was really bothering me. Think the boys want to try that cook in Bonham on 9/26. You going? Our newest team member was really smitten with the BBQ competition bug....it happens! 8) :) :D
