I just submitted my entry today for this event......It will be my second year and I cannot wait for this.....It was my first competition ever and I have been to several since and I have yet to see one as awesome as this one. Duck Jam in College Station was nice but the camaraderie was lacking. This is a first class event all the way and the work and effort the event staff puts forth is unbelievable. Everybody feels welcome and has a great time. It is very organized and smooth. If you worry about it being open to the public to taste your que, no need to worry. Last year Camp Craig Allen had so much meat for everyone there was never a moment that I felt I had overcomitted or was not going to be able to handle it!
I will be under the name Beer Thirty BBQ. You can easily miss us cuz we don't use the big smoker. Look for the drum corp of UDS. Cold beer and trash can cookers is how we roll...
If your on the fence about doing this...go for it...it is a great cause and I guarantee it will be one of the best times you will have all year

Looking forward to meeting you that weekend... The last time I talked to Dawn she said 20 spots or less is available....

And as for the beer we will be able to buy it from them at a discounted rate.. Teams will be able to purchase it by the case when they arrive and it will go to individuals cans later in the afternoon.... So be sure to buy enough when you arrive..

So who is going to be here? Look forward to meeting you all! We're Beer Thirty BBQ. Other than camp craig allen and bbq, it's pretty obvious what we support. If you don't cook and just come out for a look see, come by and say hey....easy to spot us...we're the ones without the fancy rig...just a few drums and an egg we don't know how to use (YET!) Looking forward to seeing everyone we met last year and getting to meet a whole lot of new people. Looks like it is gonna be a great turn out and a lot of good competition!
