Madison Ribberfest: BBQ, Blues, and Balloons

Madison Ribberfest will be held August 15 and 16th this year on the riverfront.

Backyard BBQ Blast Amateur competition ($25 Entry) begins Fri. at 6am, judging around 7pm. Amateur comp. includes awards for Ribs, Pork, Beef, Poultry, and Game/Other Meats (rabbit, goat, venison, etc), as well as a Best Sauce, Best Rub, and Best Team category.

KCBS sanctioned Indiana BBQ Cokk-Off Championship competition judging on Sat. Categories include:

Chicken

Pork Ribs

Pork (Boston Butt, Picnic, or Whole Shoulder)

BBQ Sauce

Beef Brisket

Dessert- banana theme

Open (anything butt) - open theme

Blues bands start at 6pm Fri. and at 1pm on Sat. Should be a wonderful event again this year. Anyone in the area that can come down, please do. You better believe I'll be there.
