Don't know if there's still confusion. The sanctioning bodies do not put on the events. There's usually a promotor/organizer who decides, usually to their own detriment LOL to put on a cook-off. They contact their local organization (IBCA, IBC, KCBS etc...) The organization (with the exception of KCBS to my knowledge) supplies a head judge to come out and instruct the volunteer judges, tally the votes etc... The general rules (other than cooking) are set by the promoter/organizer... So if there's no cook offs near you, it's because no one has stepped forward to set one up...

IBCA region 1 is currently working on one for the Kilgore area slated for June.
