Well I had hoped to see some of you down there and shake a few hands, but I never got a reply from my judging application. This is not the way to run a competition IMHO. At every contest that I have judged at, I have had good communications. I have received several replies saying one of three things, 1) You're one the the judges, with details to follow, 2) You are on our standby list, 3) We are full for the judging, but can you come on short notice if we have a dropout? I signed up for the Huntsville comp back in October, and never heard a peep, so I'm writing them off. Not how I do business.

Sorry to hear that. I'll talk with Ben to help ensure that this does not happen in the future. I think with him having his surgery, some things may have got overlooked.

No biggie. I just put $200 back in my billfold, which is about what it costs me for travel, meals, and a room for the night when I judge out of town contests.

We had a great time out there today. Especially nice getting a call for 4th in pork which is our worst category. I do wish they had called more than just 1st in the extra categories, but that's just because we finished 2nd in dessert.
