Postby nascarchuck » Tue Oct 23, 2007 6:32 pm

I saw on TFF that there are still spots open for this weekends BBQ Cookoff. Here is the press release.

Camp Craig Allen BBQ Cook- Off Fundraiser with special appearances

October 26, 2007: Newly formed Non-profit organization that focus on the abilities of physically disabled children and adults, is having a fundraiser for raising money and awareness to build this very special camp, Camp Craig Allen.

The BBQ Cook Off fundraiser at the Bass Pro Shop, Grapevine promises to be a huge event with projected crowds of 10,000 participants!

Friday, October 26, 45 BBQ Cooking teams all across North Texas will arrive and begin cooking all night in a competition of naming of the Best BBQ brisket, ribs, chicken, wild game and beans.

Along with cookers, over 100 classic cars will be competing in the Classic Car show as well.

Special appearances of some retired Dallas Cowboys will be on hand as celebrity judges, headed by Scott Murray.

The World’s largest smoker, sponsored by Mrs. Baird’s, with its enormous length of over 100 ft is like having the Good Year blimp arrive in the parking lot. The smoker rig, designed and operated by Trace Arnold will be cooking over 2000lbs of brisket and over 1000 hotdogs, all at one time, along with his competition entry!

General Public gates open Noon-6pm, on Saturday, October 27th

Wow..you sure they got room for all that stuff? Last time they had a CASI chili cookoff out there they drew about 15 teams I think. The health goons was a giant pain in the booty or so the rumors went. Went around sticking meat temps..check for bleach water..table clothes..cooking under cover etc. Hope they aint a problemo on this deal.
