Ibca magnolia results

Postby JMoney7269 » Sun Sep 28, 2014 12:40 pm

Dr smoke had a awesome showing in magnolia. We ended up 1st chicken, 3rd ribs, and the big kahuna 1st brisket and grand champion. Took home $4k including the Calcutta money. I'm really loving this diesel inverter generator. We left with a full tank, ran all weekend and returned with 7/8 tank. Very much a fuel miser. It's off to Cedar Park next weekend for back to back cookoffs.

Nope big ed, good try. I go where the money is at. Could care less about how many cookers are in one area, I'm about getting paid!

Looks like it!! Pretty good payday for under 20 teams.

what made you pick Magnolia? Entry flyer does not list the payouts. Must have been some serious running you up in a 19 team Calcutta as well. Calcutta's being Calcutta's many teams don't even bid.

Never have figured out why you don't swing for the fences with some of the higher pay out comps / organizations other than your normal quote about "getting paid.."

For some stupid reason this has bothered me all day. Going where the money is is a 19 team comp in Magnolia?

Cmon Justin, congrats on the GC but enough with you talking about where the big money is.

Wow, a $4k payday last weekend and you were scared to bet me $1k?

19 teams at $200 equal $3800 or $1267 per category if it was a 100% payout with no added money. No where on the flyer does it mention 100% payout, huge guaranteed money, or any added money. Unless I'm missing something, it simply doesn't add up.

Saying you follow the money is a load of crap too, you follow the smallest easiest comps you can find. NO where on that flyer does it state any kind of big money.

You'd be surprised at what calcuttas, in small towns, will bring. I've seen cooks walk away with several thousand at 15 team cook offs in the metropolis of Trinity. I've considered crossing the bridge, next year, just to try to get a piece of that Calcutta money.
