My wife and I are planning on coming down to just walk around or what-not and meet a few of you folks I talk with on here from time to time.
My first question is - how family friendly are these events? We would have our two boys with us (ages 5 and 11). Are there other kids around, or will we be outcasts for bringing kids to an adult event? We keep our kids on a pretty good lock-down (they don't run wild) and they know how to behave, but without knowing I just don't want to show up and be frowned upon for having kids with us. My sis-in-law and bro-in-law will also be with us with their 3 kids. They live in Rockwall which is why we decided to come down and make a day of it checking it out.
Secondly, do spectators get to eat ribs? Are their tickets sold or some sort of other method to get to try out some different ribs? My wife is a rib lover and I need to break the news to her now if we aren't going to be able to eat some ribs at a rib cookoff. Know what I mean?
At any rate, I hope to get to meet a some of you and also talk to a few folks I haven't seen in a while. I appreciate your help!

BRING THEM RUG RATS. THEY ARE MORE THAN WELCOME. MOST COOK-OFFS ARE PRETTY LAID BACK WITH EVERYONE JUST OUT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. FAR AS TASTING, SOME CITIES FROWN IT FOR HEALTH REASON. MAKES NOT SINCE TO ME. YOU SHOULD SEE OF THE RESTAURANTS OUT THAT ARE NOT ALL THAT CLEAN. BUT IF YOU KNOW THE COOKS AND THEY HAVE TURNED IN THEIR STUFF I AM SURE THEY WILL GIVE YOU SAMPLES. COME BY AND I WILL GIVE YOU A FEW
