ROUND 3 - PORK ANNOUNCEMENT
Alright ladies and gents, you really upped the competition in the chicken round. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the pork round!!
What can you cook: Pig. Period. Loins, chops, ribs, butts, picnics, whole hog, etc. You get the idea.
What is it cooked on: One word, fire. Not stovetop fire. Grill fire. Smoke 'em, grill 'em, rotisserie, as long as it is cooked on the grill, it's in.
What else in the picture: No sides or identifying information in the picture. We are judging on the meat and want to keep it blind.
When is the deadline: Monday, August 17, 2020. Midnight central (my) time.
What is the secret code: As you know, the secret code needs to appear in the picture to ensure the integrity of the competition. So make sure to include it the phrase "HERE PIGGY PIGGY" in the picture! In the prior rounds, I was lenient on a phrase omission. For this round and the next round, the phrase needs to be in the picture, or the entry will not be allowed.
As before, if you send one entry in and later want to send another in, you are free to do so, but please make a note of the substitution in the e-mail. Also, if you send in multiple pictures, I will ask you which one you want to enter. I can't make the choice.
If you have questions about the format or if it appears the date is not workable, post it here or send me a PM.
Light those pits!!!

Re: ROUND 3 - PORK ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey folks! I just wanted to give a heads up. Due to some personal issues, I've been kind of in and out around here and haven't pushed this competition as much as I intend to. As a result, we don't have a lot of entries. I am going to extend the deadline two (2) weeks to August 31, 2020 at midnight, central time. If you have already sent in an entry, it's still good. If you want to take advantage of the extension to submit a new entry, go for it!
Otherwise, expect to see more from me, and get those entries in!!

I’ll probably procrastinate to the last minute. Kinda the way retirement works around here.

Re: ROUND 3 - PORK ANNOUNCEMENT
Ok, folks. My entry is in the process and cooking. Will be sent in today.
To up my chances I've been playing old disco hits from Ottawan and Boney M the entire day. Not so popular with my kids but imho nothing beats hits like Hands Up, D.I.S.C.O, Rivers of Babylon and Ma Baker. At least not for one that was young in the 80's.
For those of you that still haven't planned any throwdown cooking you know what to do.
