Re: CONGRATS TO:
Congrats, Boots! That was one fine looking specimen! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your meat? Did your butcher cut it for you? I'd love to give it a go!

Re: CONGRATS TO:
Thanks you guys, I'm tickled to death. I felt compelled to really try hard and bring the A game, Limey has set the bar so high for the rest of us.
Tex, the meat came from Market Street, pretty much every week they have a pre-Frenched pork loin sitting in the meat case and when I was walking by this one - you guessed it - "spoke" to me, said "Boots you old broken down lousy pig smoker, pick me, pick me!!". So I did. I think most decent butchers can French one for you so you don't have to.
Marinated it two days in a mix of good lager beer, some hard apple cider, and a lemon/pepper type rub, then smoked that puppy 7 hours at about 200-210. About an hour and a half before finish (I lost track, that was about a 3 or 4 beer cook), I glazed it with a pineapple/jalapeno/chipotle glaze I concocted, and then again with about an hour to go (sprinkling around some coarse black pepper too), and then poured the smoke to the critter real real hard.
THAG LIKED!!
Hat tip to all the other contestants who cooked some really pretty stuff that I would really like to come to your house and eat (what time? I can bring beer.). Old Yoda (#5) promised me one of his ribs, so I get a bonus prize.

Thanks Limey, great compliment coming from the Zen master.
Egghead I'll trade you some pork some time for some of those salt rock scallops of yours.
