Son's first cook...

Postby nascarchuck » Sun Jun 29, 2008 8:11 pm

Well, maybe it's time to pass the grillin torch to my 13 year old son. He has helped me in different stages of dinner, but this is the first time that he did the complete dinner from seasoning the meat, lighting the grill, cooking, etc with me only supervising.

He made burgers and I tell ya whut, he is giving me a run for the money as the grill master of the house!

Auntie Laura... He has been grounded from the PC for many months (keeps downloading stupid games when told not to) and had the PS2 taken away about a month ago (just won't mind and do his chores). Now if you were a good Aunt, you would had already known these things!

Thanks everyone. I tell ya, he did a great job. Seasoned just right, cooked just right although he had a little trouble with the buns sticking to the griddle while toasting them. But everything was really good!

Okay, let me put it this way; a week with Auntie Laura, and he will be ready to come home and toe the line! 8)
He sounds alot like my 13 yr old daughter. My 16yr old son went thru the same thing at that age, and you just have to muddle thru it.
You are doing great by getting him involved in the things that interest you, and I look forward to hopefully meeting him in September!

Makes one proud to have a son or daughter follow in your footsteps. You have a right to be proud of him!
