So while in Branson last week, and it was our 42nd anniversary, we decided to hit a longhorn steakhouse. (I woulda cooked steaks on the grill but it was in too close proximity to the neighbors ‘utilities’ for my wife)
We knew better, especially with the bad food we had the other days, but we did it anyway. The filets were tough and disappointing.
We had to redeem that meal with our own strip steaks.
It’s just so disappointing to eat out anymore, especially at the prices.
Don’t ask me why I didn’t take action shots…cooked on the Weber 22.

No, I carry my own jumbo Joe Weber with me when we travel. But this campground had the neighbors sewer and hookups right next to the patio areas so my wife wouldn’t let me cook out.
That’s nice if I’m pulling in for one night and convenient hose hookups, but not real good when yer stayin a few days and want to use the patio area. Would rather the hookups be towards the rear then.
One time a few years ago, a guy laid his sewer connections right on my picnic table. Yep.
If I hadn’t just been over nightin then, we’d of had some words.

Re: Better than the steakhouse
Some people are so inconsiderate of others. I get disappointed at most places when we eat out, which brings me back to fast food, mickey d's chick filet and the like seem to maintain some standard that one can rely on albeit not a very good fare but still a standard that can be expected even some of those disappoint, my first and last trip to longhorn was down in the valley, as you described very disappointing... Steak is so easy to cook and a person can easily pick out a good one at a butcher shop or worst case a grocery store. We did some fajitas yesterday and the wife commented that nowhere could she thing of any restaurant that provides the quality of meal we consumed. As we ready for our jaunt to AL. it will most likely be chick filet in West Monroe La. since that is our half way point coming and going, and La quinta, is close to wally world and the chick filet and allows us to take our puppy with us.

Re: Better than the steakhouse
Glad y'all got a redemption meal - it looks awesome! I totally get it. It's so hard for me to go spend $100+ on a meal at a nice steak restaurant when I know I can easily throw it down at home much better for a fraction of the cost. The same goes for going to a bbq restaurant. I rarely go. It's expensive (and I understand why), but I'd rather just eat mine at home.
Also, I'll never understand why some campgrounds place their sewer connections in the strangest places.

I understand you very well. It's no comfort, but it's the same here. Eating out is expensive and the steaks served are often subpar. Our kids prefer the steaks we cook at home instead of the ones served at the restaurants.

I may hit a Whataburger, but other than that, I’m done.
Not sure what I’m gonna do when we travel. I know we can’t eat at the RV every meal.

Re: Better than the steakhouse
Lately, we have found some new places around here that serves decent grub and the prices are affordable. Places like Chick N Max, First Watch and Vernon's BBQ Grill are just a few and we can both eat a good meal for under $30 total (including the tip).
