Birthday grilling
There was something different about this birthday. Yes I turned 53, was away from my family which usually never happens, so I turned to childhood memory meals to help make it very memorable. My chief left for the weekend and I was in charge. I took care of my crews for meals and laughed often during the 48 hrs shift. Great people to be with and the food helped. Tonight was entitled meat sweats and just about every item on our plates had meat in it. Kalbi tri tips, smoked Buffalo wings, grilled Italian sausages and corn Mac and cheese with smoked Bacon on it. Two desserts and a nice shiny belly.

That's a menu I'd like to taste. Great cooking. Hope you got some cake too.
