Dreaming of Malcolm tonight LOL
Decided to use up the one pork belly that I had left over from the Throw Down last year and I've also decided to do the same thing. Tomorrow will find the Pit Boss Pellet Pooper throwing smoke all over some Malcolm Reed Pork Belly Burnt Ends and I can't wait. If I luck out and can call it Lunch then I'm gonna grill corn ears and whoop up a Salad (maybe even Pickled Okra)?????

WELPS FOLKS - - - it looks like MURPHY and not Malcolm was in Montgomery Texas this morning.
First of all my Masd Card for my Olympus Camera broke so I was forced to use the Phone.
Then it took forever to get my Pellet Pooper to settle down close to 275. However, once it did I had a good pre-tenderizing first 2.5 hrs. Then I panned and wrapped and was happy with the Temp. *)&@%)@%*)&%#) There must of been a flare up for the last hour or so because when I took them out THEY WERE IMPOSSIBLE TO CHEW and TASTED BURNT. THey were completely BLACK and Hard as a ROck. So I chunked them and gave MURPHY a good #)+&*$_^#_*&^&*)0@_$%.

Sorry about that. I hate to waste food meat but we’ve all had cooks like that.
What makes a pellet grill swing like that? I have no working knowledge of them but I thought the point was you tell it the temp and it goes to that temp and stays?

I really don't know what causes it and I've not had any real problems with this in the past.
I was messing with the P setting a lot and that might have caused it but not real sure.
Think I'll call them tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Strange. Not a good feeling when you look forward to eating and it's a disappointment. But I guess we all have had a failure or two when cooking.
Pellet burners should be stable. Was it a windy day? Windy days have caused fluctuations here.

It was my fault but still shouldn't have happened.
After 2.5 hrs they were beautiful and delicious but still not ready.

Been there more than a few times, myself, especially with briskets.

Kinda like a Guy that was bragging that he had never missed a shot on a Deer: it just told me he hadn’t hunted much.
