Twings and Brats...

Postby BrisketRex » Mon Feb 18, 2008 11:30 am

My lawn in showing tiny signs of life, so I spent Sunday getting the yard ready and cleaned up for spring. I put some turkey wings and brats on the Kettle using indirect heat and some cherry and sugar maple chunks for smoke. You can't beat twings for the price..........about 1.25 per wing!

Looks great, tocayo! My son wants wings for his birthday this weekend, but I never thought of twings. I can see his face now.

Turkey is pretty lean, so they actually turn out juicier if they are deep fried. They can dry out pretty quick in the grill. I give them some direct heat at the end to crisp up the skin.
Rob--one wing is a good meal for an adult, even better for a child. I can hear your son now. "My dad's the greatest........he cooked up teradactyl(sp) dinosaur wings for my birthday." Major cool points with the son. My son picked up a brat and put the whole thing away........no bread or nothing. Just the brat and chocolate milk!! :D
