First time griddle steak

Postby bsooner75 » Tue Jan 01, 2019 8:17 pm

I’ve never done a steak on the Blackstone before so I thought I’d give it a shot. “Diner Style” I guess you’d call it. Plus it was chilly outside and getting everything done quickly was a plus.

Strips seasoned with Sucklebusters 1836 and garlic Parmesan butter and sprouts with the butter and SPG. Baked potato in the oven seasoned with SPG.

Turned out pretty dang good. I’ll definitely do it again. Had to get a little creative on the griddle to keep some of the food warm while I finished up but it turned out good.

That looks good Sooner.
We had a guy at the deer lease that liked his steaks rare. He'd salt & pepper his steak, let it get to room temp. Then, in a cast iron skillet on a propane stove, he'd sear it for about 3 minutes on each side on hIGH heat

Rambo - I’m more medium rare but I like his thought process. Next time I might set the bacon press on it to get a little more sear. I was basically cooking in the dark by the end so I just rolled with it :)

Hey Sooner, was that on your new griddle? That Christmas Ale is good beer.

No that was the 36. Haven’t seasoned the 22 yet.

I’m a fan of both St Arnold Christmas Ale and Shiner Holiday Cheer. Both really good beers.

I got it at market street. I actually prefer the Kerry Gold garlic and herb butter from Tom Thumb but we were at MS.

That's a great steak. Like the sprouts and the tatter too. And that beer looks interesting.

It's all in the Mayo Clinic Diet Cookbook, right next to OUP's Low Cal Rippers

LOL! If I cook green vegetables at the same time on the griddle it makes everything else healthier too!

Thanks all

LOL

Always add some green. Gives you a good alibi.

Besides that my diet is easy. If the dish contains the word diet in it I stay away.

LOL; we had a guy at the deer lease once that after a few days in camp, and me doing most of the cooking asked: " Rambo, do you ever eat anything green?" After careful thought I said; " yep, I like green beans"
