T-BONE Supper

Postby Rambo » Sun Oct 28, 2018 8:30 pm

Fellas, I just had a fantastic Supper. I'm sure you can order this online if you'll google it up. Texas A&M has it's own meat Market, Rosenthal Sales. The wife ordered a Hundred dollar box last week. They shipped it like the Omaha Steak Company does. We had 2 large T-Bones in the box so we took them out of the freezer yesterday and set them in the refrigerator to thaw. This afternoon about 3 I got them out and lightly dusted them with the Perini Ranch Steak Rub I got a month or so back on my trip to Abilene along with a light dust of Kosher salt. I let them sit out, room temperature until about 6;30. While that's going on Sherry is boiling some of those thin skinned white potatoes. She rough mashes them and adds butter & a touch of garlic salt. She made us a nice salad to go with it. Outside I have placed a single layer of Kingsford original Briquets in the Weber Mini-Kettle and half a 1/2 full chimney of Kingsford started in the chimney. They got orange and I spread them on top of the briquets in the kettle. Once all that turned orange I brought out the steaks and put them on the orange hot fire. Mine, 4 minutes on each side, hers a little longer. These Rosenthal steaks were wonderful and I'm not buying any more store bought meat. The Perini rub is just wonderful and they have a website.

"Gig'em Rambo" - - - that Plate screams Homegrown Cooking, Pal - - - I shall be looking into that "Source" - even if it is in TAMU  :salut:
Might even be worth a mini-Road Trip since we're only about an hour from there :texas:

Rambo, I am sure that is quality meat. But due to circumstances beyond my control, I don't believe I would be able to store that stuff in our freezer in that packaging it is in. The Warden, happens to be a UT at Austin Longhorn Grad. Me, I went to the University of Budweiser, and still going.

It doesn't have " A&M" on the packaging; order it yourself . It says, " Rosenthal sales". I noticed last night when I pulled that link they had " unsmoked pork belly". I've been wanting to do that too.

Good to hear but really doesn't matter - - - Both of my Step-sons are TAMU Grads and they are also two of my Best Friends - - - we just don't discuss College Sports EVER :salut:

I hear'ya. I put my daughter through 4 1/2 years there. When I hit the city limits sign after she graduated I rolled down the window and gave it a one finger salute, I haven't been back since and that was 2010.

In reviewing that price list, the cheapest way to buy from them would be to get a couple of Family or Friends and go in on a side or hindquarter

I’m a Sooner…y’all Aggies and Horns can be picky but I WANT THAT STEAK :)

That looks fantastic. I knew of camp brisket and the such but had no idea about the meat market. Thank you for the info!

I take it that they have an adopted program. I know I’d eat everything on my plate too.
