My salt block shouted at me - USE ME, USE ME!!

I surrendered and flanked a piece of salmon with some a few scallops. Hoochie Mama scallops and Dizzy Pig Swamp Venom on the salmon.

Food looks great. :salut:  :chef:

Always wondered about salt blocks... Primarily heat transfer and how much of a heat sink they are, and how much salt they add to the food.

Nice, nice. Egg, how much heat will your block handle? Or said another way, how hot do you run the Egg when you use it?

Dome temp was 400 for this cook. Not sure how high you can go. I put the block in early as the temp is rising. Sudden change in temp is not likely a good thing. Also leave in in the egg after shutting down for a slow cool down.

At all - salt blocks aren’t cheap. A friend gave me this after receiving it as a door prize. I use it occasionally because I have it. I consider it more as a gimmick and wouldn’t purchase one. Just my dos centavos.

Very nice, sir! I'm still on the hunt for a block myself. May just have to order one..
