Here a couple of pictures of my Bacon ,Cheddar,Potato pie I cooked previously...
these are great side dish's and I make them often......two pounds of bacon in this bad boy.

Get turkey bacon. My g/f can't handle pork grease so most of the time, so I'm frequently stuck with that alternative. It's almost as good as the real thing. You could substitute some pastrami for that layer of ham I see also. :tup:
Of course, I guess my option depends on if you consider Turkey to be kosher. I understand there's a little bit of debate over that. :dont:

Thanks for all the kind words guys.....I guess you could use turkey bacon....but its the bacon grease that gives it that nice flavor. :D

No the potatos are raw....once the fat renders out of the bacon they start to cook nicely in that grease.

Once that pie has been for an hour or so....you will see a ton of bacon grease...i actually used a chicken baster to draw most out and then let it rest a few minutes to set up before slicing.
I also use baking potatos because of the higher starch content...helps things stay together when slicing.
