Postby CaptJack » Sat Feb 10, 2018 4:37 pm

shrimp&fillet on the OldSmokey
½ chimney of briquets
into the 10x13x4 pan
with a couple of chunks of hickory
EVOO & OldBay
cooked to 130° - shrimp-5'min - fillet-9'min
the flavor was outstanding
a nice touch of smoke
the remoulade was spicy ;)

Yep that's it. The brother in law is almost 7 foot tall so I will defiantly have to get the extended legs.

What I am NOT in the mood for is the prices we have to pay around here for good seafood. I see Russ and Sailors pain over beef and pork prices, I feel the same way about seafood. I have been wanting some pan seared diver scallops for months, but just can't shake loose of the $50 to get some. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

We go to Maine quite often and see the $$ fluctuations for the goodies in the cold salt water so we have to really look for good prices.
Some seasons are good, some not for the fisherman and unfortunately it trickles down to us little guys.
