Bacon Wrapped Beer Can Burgers

Postby bsooner75 » Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:04 pm

Wanted to post a thread on my TD entry. The photos weren’t that great but they tasted awesome. First time doing this and I learned they probably would’ve looked better if I had waited to the end to top with cheese.

Anyway - you make a burger bowl with a beer can and wrap in bacon. Then stuff with whatever you want and smoke / cook away from the fire for about an hour. We stuffed ours with jalapeño and onion because it’s what we had. Wanted to do Mac and Cheese for the kids but they just wanted bacon and cheese.

Give them a shot and let me know what you use to stuff them. I’m sure you guys will come up with some cool ideas!

Very interesting. I have a stuffed burger "thingy" but it makes the burgers too big, especially for me since I can't get them done enough for my family that way.  :chef: :chef:

We all have big mouths.......... :whiteflag:

Since I these are not cooked directly over the fire you can cook them to the IT of your choosing. The Slow N Sear on the Weber Kettle worked great for this cook (no water in reservoir and ran about 300). Next time I will try to get them a little closer to the heat at the and to crisp up the bacon a little more. It had a little too much chew to it.

Those look great and I agree with Rambos comment  :salut:  I have one of those "thingies" like Outlaw mentioned but when I used it and then tried to grill the patties they self-destructed. :dont:

Forgot to mention I used 80/20 and it seemed to be the perfect mix. Also put some Sucklebusters Honey BBQ sauce on them

Looks great, they taste better when using a Shiner can though. I have tried them stuffed with mushrooms and onions and chopped jalapeños, big hit.
