Hump Day Steak n Tater

Postby OldUsedParts » Wed Nov 01, 2017 1:42 pm

Taking me a while to get back to ?normal? but yesterday I scored a 1 pound Ribeye at HEB and that was my quest for today's Lunch. Baked a small and simple Tater to go with it. Obviously, I don't know anything about choosing cow chunks because I was worried that this one wasn't going to be tender or tasty. However, I was dead wrong. Rubbed it with Zesty Italian and dusted with Suckle Busters Campfire Steak Seasoning and cooked it on the Kettle with the Steak directly over 300 temp Kingsford for 5 minutes per side. It was probably the juiciest, most tender and tasty Steak that I have done in a long time. Filled me up quick and now I have a nice tasty chunk left for later.

Thank you for the warning, but I have become accustomed to it now. I do have a simple question though. :D Why bother firing up the grill? :dont: Just for the grill marks? :dont: In reality, the steak you "kinda" cooked looks really good, for you. :chef: :chef: :chef: Much better than my homemade egg rolls I did last night.

Right after my Wife and I got together we were taking a little one day road trip and stopped in a Steakhouse to eat. When I ordered the T-bone, the Waitress asked me how I wanted it cooked. I replied "screaming and bleeding" - - - For a second I thought my Wife was going to hitch-hike home. :whiteflag:

LOL - are you suggesting he should just warm to room temp and use a sharpie for the grill marks :)
