New Year Shrimp & Scallops

Postby OSD » Tue Jan 01, 2008 7:23 pm

The temp is dropping fast and the wind is blowin' harder as the day goes on. Our first cold snap since last winter. :? So we decided to grill up some shrimp and scallops.

I forgot to put the grilled garlic bread in the last pic.

Looks great. Ever done them bacon wrapped? With a slice of jalapeno? Just gotta be careful about the flare ups on the grill with that...

Now cant quite figger out why chilly weather make anybody want to eat seafood? I'm thinking of stew and chili. Do it help to be a yankee on these types of deals?

BW, It's because I live further south than you do and live along the coast where seafood abounds. :D :D Mmmm....If you're thinking about stew & chili when it gets cold, maybe there's a little Yankee in you that you ain't tellin' about.:dont: :D

Real reason I grilled today rather than firing up the smoker was I didn't want to fight 20-30 mph winds all day. :D :D

Well now your making sense..you can get it cheap. Sounds plausible to me. Keep up the good work. Supposed to plunge into the 20's up in here in God's Country tonight. Ain't really had sea food on the mind. Seemed a little irrational when you splained it the first time:)

I know better than to even look at all the seafood pics. I just love seafood and can't really find the good stuff around here. You have my mouth watering, Jim.

Aloha,

Great job ... Jim. You are quite the "chef de grille". Living near the ocean all my life has made me a seafood eater. Never had scallops until moving to the mainland. Come springtime be heading for some serious salmon fishin'! Can't stand that farm raised fish... What da heck do they feed 'em?

In my first month with the forum I have learned "volumes" of info. Mahalo y'all! Can't wait till my pit is delivered!

Take care...
