Pard, the way most enjoy Okra here in the Suthern States isn't anything like what you're use to - - I like it fried, pickled and "EVEN" stewed - - - my oldest Son calls stewed okra "cross yer legs okra" they are a little slick (slimy) when done that way :laughing7: :D

I've done them Indian/ Japanese style okra dipped in fine batter, and fried. I can't think of the word for doing them this way, but they are really nice.

I'm sure I would like them that way - - - when I fry okra I use a wet dredge of buttermilk and egg and then dry dredge them in corn flour but Sherry likes cornmeal so I end up doing two separate batches :banghead:

50% ain't bad - - - carefull not to bake it too long 'cause some yams will go squishy on you if you're not careful - - - - depending on the size, I usually go an hour at 400 in my oven - - flipping half way thru - - - ENJOY

Wild Bill, sadly no Margerita but I did have a Sherry and a Beer (or two?)

Thanks,OUP. We're ready for our sweet potato adventure soon. We'll probably use the gas rig to bake it. The marshmallow creme should make it reminiscent of the sweet potato pie, topped with masrhmallows I used to have as a kid on Thanksgiving. :D
