Frozen Burgers

Postby Professor Bunky » Sun May 14, 2017 7:06 pm

We wanted to see if we can make our own Bubba Burgers that will grill directly from frozen. So we bought some pre-made fresh burgers in the supermarket (I think they were chuck, 80% lean). At home we pounded them thin (to about 1/4"), dusted them with some rub & froze them.

Today, I took out 2 of them and grilled them on my small gas Weber, only 4 minutes per side. They were cooked to well done, which is what we wanted (just like Bubba Burgers). Taste-wise they were not impressive but they were OK (just a bit bland). Bubbas are looking better to us now.

Here's the result on a plate:

I should have gone with the double-toasted bun and the Special Secret Sauce.

I cooked about 30 bubba's at a work function last week and they were ok. What I did was put them on and flip once. Then salt and pepper. They weren't real burgers but they were ok.

Thanks!

We're just testing stuff out! Maybe next time it'll be back to a large hunk of fresh-ground cow that's still breathing in the middle. ;)

Sad to hear they were only OK. They look like they'd steal the show!

Best frozen burgers I've had were from this company.
I picked up 2 cases of 1/2 lbers and they went like free money at the party.
Did some on the Akorn and some on the Blackstone.

Blackstone won overwhelmingly !

If u guys can find this brand, don't pass them up.
