Finally stopped raining. Steak!

It's been raining all week. Great for our garden, not so much for Outdoor Cooking. It rained this morning, but when it stopped, out came a marinated shell steak.
Accompanied by Smooshed Fried Red Taters (my new favorite preparation: nuke red taters until not quite done, smoosh, remove some skin, fry until crisp in bacon fat with chopped onion) and mixed vejables including fennel, with Marsala Mushrooms.
Had to force myself to stop eating or I'd colic like a horse.

I believe that shell steak is like strip steak. It was pretty good, even with having to switch gas tanks half-way through the grilling.

Russ...I cut the 'shrooms on the thick side, then sautee in butter until they brown, then start to 'sweat.' Then just throw in a shot glass of Marsala, swish it around. Season with salt and pepper. Simple, but really really gooood.
Here I used baby Bellas. You could cut the 'shrooms thin, though. All this reminds me: we're almost out of Marsala.
Thanks, everyone!
