Ur putting me on da spot with this one lol !!

I am and MUST be partial to Sabrett. I like that they are all beef and have a good Garlic tone to them.
I don't know if u can easily access them in Texas ??

If not, try a Nathan's or Hebrew National IMHO.

Bests are pretty good too, I just make sure they are All Beef

We shop in different states, and I look for natural casings, too. Never tried Sabrett's (though I probably will now) but I've enjoyed Boar's Head.

Allen Brothers steak dogs is mail-order and waaaay $$$$. Love the taste and the 'pop,' but we only indulge in these for our Independence Day cook.

I'm looking forward to seeing some hot oil rippers!

Nothing at all wrong with a boiled dog! To really shine it up, toss em in a skillet and fry them up. I do that with ours anyways. It works for those days that you just absolutely can't fire up the grill.

10-4, I've done that also plus splitting them longways so I get more browned crusty area - - - I'm just interested in how oil frying affects the overall flavor :dont:

We put out just about everything for our guests, including maters, but I usually stick to mustard and kraut, with occasional dips into chopped onion and pickle.

tomorrows trimmings will be kraut, brown mustard and sweet jalapeno relish on one and the second will be a Chili Cheese Ripper just for variety  knowing the Wiffy's taste, hers will be mayo and own-yawns :dont:

I have fried them in oil before. Cook it like fish; hot and fast. Very good!
