Tri-Tip Sunday
marinated tri-tip in EVOO, Worsty and Red Wine for about 6 hours then rubbed down with some kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh black pepper, sage, thyme and a secret ingredient allspice
Seared the tri-tip, 5 min each side then grilled it indirect. Used R.O. lump and a piece of wine barrel oak for a little smoke flavor
Threw on some cubed red potatoes with a hunk of butter and a special greek style seasoning.
Served up with some great sweet corn. First time for tri-tip. Tasted like I was eating a strip steak. Very tender and juicy, would recommend if anyone hasn't tried one.

I can never find tri-tips around here!
That looks absolutely wonderful!

Laura, I really never looked for them when I was at the grocery store until people started talkin about em. Talk to the butcher at your grocery store, he/she may be able to get one for you, its worth it!

Tri Tip is from the bottom sirloin (not to be confused with the sirloin and top sirloin which are different cuts of meat near the tenderloin) close to where you would get flank steak, closer to the bottom rear of the cow. You can get tri tip steaks and roasts, in this case this was an obvious roast. Sometimes they call 'em triangle steaks. Good luck
