Beer Butt Chicken

Postby Sterno » Sun Oct 25, 2009 3:29 pm

I had two little birds and two cans of Heineken. Split some cherry wood, rubbed the birds and sat them in the Weber.

Two hours later they looked like this.

Nice and crispy skin as I ran the Weber at about 250F and towards the end at 300F. Served them with home made mango-habanero-bbq sauce. Yummy! :)

Sterno those look amazing, now I sincerely hope that between the two 1/2 cans that went to the birds 1 can went to the cook. I always say the absolute recipes start with the words "Open a beer and drink 1/2."

I always say, use a coke for the chickens, and drink the beer! Good looking yardbird, Sterno.

Heh, sure I had half of the beers myself! And a few ones more while waiting for the birds to get ready

As a matter of fact, where we live there is a house rule, that says that it's not allowed to charcoal grill or BBQ without beer or other alcoholic beverages.

BTW, that's the only house rule we have. I made the rules when we moved in to this house...
