Scored a Rib Roast deal

Postby Scott P » Sat Dec 05, 2020 9:43 am

While at our local Kroger getting some ground beef for chili on Tuesday, a few rib roasts caught my eye. Apparently, there was some sort of manager special making USDA Choice Rib Roasts for $3.97/lb. It just fell into my cart, I swear. It was such a special, that it took the cashier and front end manager three attempts to get it to ring up the correct sale price. Yesterday while shopping, they had a few more, but upped the price to $4.97/lb, still a great deal. I probably should have snagged another one. I cut this 11.5 lb roast in half and vacuum packed them in the Foodsaver. One will be a practice roast on the newly acquired BGE while the other will be our Christmas dinner. I just need to buy the adapter plate for my BBQ Guru to fit the Egg to make that cook go easy.

I keep trying to explain to my wife how certain meats just jump into my cart, but she's not buying it. :D

Very nice Scottie P - call the guru guy and tell him you need a door for a large BGE and they will be on you like white on rice for just a few bucks. 8)

I ordered the full on ceramic adapter and it arrived. When it came, I use the opportunity to clean out my plastic case that I have my temperature controllers in and found the universal ceramic adapter plate that shipped with my Guru. At least I have that as a spare now.
