My first pulled pork WooHoo

Postby perryranch » Sat Mar 22, 2008 8:42 pm

Well it is a resounding success if I do say so myself. I've never eaten pulled pork before so don't have anything to compare it to but man o man it is good. We had to sample it I mean we wouldn't want to make any sick or anything LOL It took me 12 hrs to reach 200* and it pulls so easily. I ate some of the bark and do believe I'll be saving some of that for later. LOL I will be doing this again.

Here are the pics

end product I pulled enough for a pic I'll have to get in there and finish pulling soon.

Mmmmmm that looks real tasty. :D Glad the cook went great. Now you know why we all rave about the bark. The best part. :D :D I bet you won't wait so long before you do the next butts. :D :D 8)

Nice, Tami! You are still one step ahead of me; I've yet to smoke or grill lamb or goat!

Thanks y'all I ended up with a 6qt pot rounded full of PP. I'm going to put some of it in a pan and put it on the pit to reheat. I was really surprised that that long of cook didn't dry it out at all.

JaCK2U2 the cheapest place to get a goat if you don't know a goat breeder would be a regular auction. A lot of the time you can find a butchering size one for $35 to $45 you would want it to be between 40 and 60 pounds. Just don't go to a goat auction or you will be paying a pretty penny for it. Good luck on finding one.

I could never buy a goat or any animal to eat that I had laid eyes on alive!  I love meat, but I can't buy my supper while it's bleating at me!
