My first unicorn brisket....

Postby motabbq » Fri Feb 01, 2019 8:37 am

Went shopping to find a brisket for a friend at the local Costco and I was about to yell WTF!! when I saw $4.99. I looked up and read “Beef Brisket Whole American Wagyu Beef Per Lb” I chilled only to get more excited...

Wagyu!!!! I’m staring at 4 Wagyu briskets!!! In person

This little guy came home with me.

The price alone is a deal. Even though it’s 20 lb I’m determined to cook this one. Through the vacu pack the fat itself I could see and feel it is buttery... If I can cook to the same level I typically do primes I may be ruining myself... If it’s that much better I will cook on special occasions. I’ve never wanted to order one without seeing, Ive missed other times and price was always a concern. I’ve done briskets 20+ years this for me will be definitely a high...

Send me your thoughts, pointers, pics of your Wagyu cooks...

I will report on how things go.. likely goes in early Saturday afternoon for an all-nighter into Sunday...

Good find! You showed quite the bit of discipline here and I commend you for it! Had I been the one to stumble across this, I'd have gladly gotten all of them and put the Discover card to good use. Lol!

Can’t wait to see your results. I’d be tempted to grab a Prime too and cook side by side for comparison.

I’ve done primes enough. And for it to be tru comparison I’d be having to do another 20lb. Not that I wouldn’t but that be a lot of meat for a family of 4

Man I might have to trek over and see if another 1 or 6 catch my eye... 2 45 coolers in the truck already.
