Asian inspired pork roast!
The weather is being kind enough today to get some BBQ going while I pull the engine in my car. On the pit goes a pork hind that I've repurposed from would-be ham to an Asian bbq.. I injected it with a marinade made from soy sauce, hoisin, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, ginger, 5 spice, salt, pepper, and honey. It sat in the fridge for about 12 hours, then I rubbed it with many of those dry ingredients above, but added paprika, and onion powder.
Made a mopping sauce quite similar to the injection but thickened it up just a bit.
On the pit now at 225. Gonna bring it up to 275 at about the halfway point and start mopping every hour until done.
This one will be interesting..

Dude, those ingredients are pretty much identical to the ones I use for Asain Style sauces.
You will LOVE the sauce and if you have any leftover, it goes great on broccoli imho...
Anxious to see it finished

I added some Sambal to the sauce and, WOW! That woke it up. Lol! I'm nearing 4 hours in, temp is at 250, and I'm about to start moooing side 1..
