Ready for lots of BBQING
Just butchered 2 steers sold 1 and have a a freezer full of beef. We Wanted to see how they tasted so I broke out the portable camping bbq out and grilled some T bone steaks. Couldn't believe how tender it was. We are going to enjoy it. Had it hang for 21 days before cutting up and wrapping.

You processed it yourself or had a packing company do it?

We have a Mobile butchering company that comes to the ranch and butchers here. Then takes it and hangs it and custom wraps it for .60 lb. Made enough from 1 steer to pay for raising both steers.

Heck of a deal. So many State and Fed restrictions here they’ve just about put all the independent Meat Market/ Slaughter House out of business. We used to kill a Milk Fat steer every year but now the closest processor is in Crockett so we just quit after the locals closed. I’m happy for you, nothing like your own

It's the only way to go! Found quite a few places close by so we could buy our own to slaughter, and I'm going to start our own sheep/lamb supply very soon!
