Everything looks great but my eye is really drawn to the chicken. Looks like a really tasty bird

They did not have a name brand on them. I bought them at Krogers. It smelled like ruined meat. I thought it might just be the blood. :banghead:

Interesting. Usually when they're "old", the preservative that's in the injection becomes REALLY prominent. Smells like some of boiled 100lbs of eggs. Lol. Thick sulfur smell. Still ok, just rinse them really good. Can't do anything about rancidity though.

I've heard of cryo-vac'ed meats possibly having a funky smell and still being good.

I've never encountered it, but if it smells funky, it's going in the trash.

I smell every meat I'm going to cook when I open it. Funky goes to the trash. I'm not taking chances.

I always save proof of purchase and if I open a stinker, back it goes, even if it's been in the deep freeze for months before I open it up.
