Adapt and overcome right. By the way. Odd question but is crown royal a good whiskey? I'm not a whiskey drinker but I can't have beer. A mans gotta kill brain cells somehow. Right?

Crown is a "blended" whiskey
it's tasty... expensive
but not a true style of any of the whiskeys
scotch (barley), rye (rye), bourbon (corn), Irish (triple distilled)
Irish is my favorite because it is triple distilled = SMOOTH!
Jameson's or Bushmill's

now... as a native Texan
I don't drink whiskey
I drink GOOD tequila
only 100% agave
and my favorite is Sauza Hornitos Repisado

you'll like either of the Irish
Crown is too sweet for me

but i bet you'd like 100% agave tequila better ;)
tequila comes in three styles
blanco (clear) right out of the still = margaritas
reposado- aged 6~12 months before bottling - pale yellow
anejo- aged at least 2 years or more in oak - complex flavors depending on the aging
NEVER drink any tequila that doesn't say 100% agave on the label
if it's not 100% agave it will kick you in the head - HURT - BAD
but the 100% will never hurt you...

I too was (as in past tense) a tequila drinker. Only alcohol I would drink. As I was in El Paso 4 days a week I had some of the Mexican side workers bring me tequila over from Mexico. I can't begin to tell you the difference in what is sold in Mexico, and what is sold here. The best I ever had was small batch 100 year old Don Ramon Reposado Especial. They sell a version of it here, but not the same. Sorry for getting off topic.

Lol, on another spirit, sambuca sp? My wife went to a work do about 25 years ago. She doesn't normally drink spirits, she was given sambuca , she arrived home in her car, I could see the lights were on as our lounge looks down our driveway, after a minute I went out wipers and lights going, key turned off and she was out of it. Took her inside and 20 minutes later she stumbled to bathroom and threw up all over the place. Massive headache next 2 days. We don't mention the s word here anymore, lmao.
