BB are generally less than a pound per rack. More than a pound per rack they're loin backs.

Spares that are sold by the case are rated 3 1/2 & downs, 3 & downs, 4 & downs and so on. In the case of the former, it means that each rack weighs no more than 3.5lbs. Usually 3 racks in a cryovac pack.

Ok, then I have never had baby back ribs, they have been loin backs. A loin back rack that is about 2lbs has a nice amount of meat on it.
