Going to make some fresh Mayhaw Jelly today. Also going to make Strawberry Jam. It’s supposed to rain here so a perfect day for it

Been there and done dat - - - I sure do miss living further East there I could gather my own May-haws on a spot along the RR tracks. :dont: :salut:

I can’t say I’ve ever had mayhaw, it looks good though.

It is good stuff. I don't have access to mayhaws and don't go down to see the relatives in Louisiana anymore but I found it at a local grocery.

I don’t know anything about a crabapple: a Mayhaw is a tiny berry that requires a lot of work to pick up

I looked it up.

Mayhaw is related to the crabapple, but comes from a hawthorne tree. And we had one! But a storm destroyed it. We also once had a crabapple, which met with a similar end. :(
