Thanks Gator for the opportunity to try your samples. I have to say that all of the samples were pretty darn good. I tried them on different meats, salads, even sprinkled 'em in the breakfast gravy. This was how I ranked 'em
Visual
1. Sample#2 I liked the contrasting colors
2. Sample#3 Similar to #2
3. Sample#1 Again similar, but colors getting tighter

Wife liked #4 the best, she said it looked richer more full.

This was really hard to do, Put a grain of salt between 1 and 4 that was how close it is.

the whole family participated in the testing, and we all enjoyed it.
for the sniff test the majority had them ranked:
Sample#2
Sample#4
Sample#3
Sample#1
the sniff test held up the same after cooking as well. we seasoned and grilled 8 chicken breasts at 350 direct on a raised grid, used all 4 samples on 2 breasts each.
the finger taste test went as follows:
Sample #2 was our favorite, it had a bit of sweet in the front and some heat in the back that lingered.
Sample #4 was next and seemed similar to #2 but the grind was a bit on the fine side.
Sample#1 was next had a nice color and balance with a little lingering heat.
Sample #3 had some good flavors but seemed too salty for us.
Cooked test:
Sample #2 came out on top here and was pretty much unanimous.
Sample #4 was next for most, for me Sample # 3 was second, the salt seemed to die off a bit after cooking.
Sample #3 was next for most and again for me, sample #4 came third
Sample #1 ended things up as the flavor seemed to just fade away after the cook.
All of the samples were good, but for our family best to worst would have to be:
#2
#4
#3
#1
the chicken was moist and delicious!
