Sterno's Grillin' marinade

Postby Sterno » Wed May 20, 2009 8:19 pm

I've been looking for the perfect marinade for beef & pork all my life, but I think I finally figured it out.

Main ingredients:

- tomato puree
- freshly crushed garlic
- olive oil
- fresh fine chopped cilantro/coriander

Additional spices to your taste:

- ground cumin
- soy sauce
- Worcestershire sauce
- cayenne pepper
- freshly ground black pepper
- sea salt (not too much, as soy- and Worcestershire sauce already are salty)
- juice of half a lemon
- oregano

I'm sure you can figure out the amounts. Absolutely gorgeous flavors and aromas once you're grilling!

Happy to hear any improvements or comments of this marinade?

Cheers,
Sterno

I like using tomato based marinades for beef and pork sometimes. I usually use a combo of tomato sauce, L&P, garlic, cilantro, basil, and pepper. I'll add in some red pepper flakes and hot sauce if I'm looking for heat. I'll have to give this one a try, it sounds good

Thanks Sterno I'm going to do a chuck roast in a few days and I'm going to give it a test run
Never met a cow I didn't like with a little salt and pepper.

Just made this and put some pork tenderloin in it waiting for tomorrow. We'll see if this is good or not :D
