I use Coke in my sauce. I never use katsup though. I started playing with making my own sauce last summer.

I use:

tomato sauce
coke
garlic
cumin
paprika
onion
onion powder
brown sugar
cider vinigar
cayenne pepper
black pepper

I never really measure anything just throw it all together. It comes out great. lately though I have been buying Pappy's Sweet and Tangy sauce. Pappy's is local here and its just alot easier and is exelent! http://www.pappyschoice.com/Product%20P ... 0Tangy.htm
