BBQ Sauce is acidic? NEED HELP
BBQ sauce I made today seems to have a tomato acidic initial taste to it, added some brown sugar but no luck. Any ideas on how to bring the acidity down a bit??

Add some baking soda to it.
I don't know how much you made, but it don't take much. Just a pinch or two per pint.
It will bubble and foam, so make sure your container will hold it.
Stir and taste after the bubbling subsides.
Add more if it is still too acidic.

Thanks Gunny!
I made 2 gallons, so I'll try about 1 TBSP and go from there. I read that online but was a little aprehensive to try it.

Soda is a neutralizer. That's why it works.
I had some instant heartburn tomatoes last year. And this was the only way I could can and eat them.
1/2 tsp should be fine for starters. Just depends on your tastes and the 'maters.
